How to write effective email newsletters

Does your business take advantage of email marketing?

Email newsletters are such a great method of marketing that is not going anywhere anytime soon - you produce content that ends up right in your audience’s inbox!

With the right strategy and quality content, your email newsletter has the capacity to boost your business’s sales. So it’s crucial to make sure you’ve got quality content.

Stick to short paragraphs.

I’m talking two or three sentences max per paragraph. No one wants to read a novel when they open their emails. Pick one message for your email to convey and keep it simple!

By keeping your messaging direct, it’ll be easier for your audience to respond to the email in the way you hope, and not just toss it in the trash bin.

Use a captivating subject line.

Did you know that the average open rate for email newsletters is only about 20%?

You only have one good line to entice your readers enough for them to open your email. Ask a question, tell a joke, or give them a sneak peek into the purpose of your email!

Find relevant images for your email.

An email with a block of text will just be off-putting to your readers.

Mix in some relevant images that work well with your message to help communicate with your audience and help them to digest your message!

Have ONE clear call-to-action.

By having too many mixed messages, your readers won’t see the value in your email.

Every email should have a single call-to-action, one clear thing you want your audience to do: take advantage of a sale, sign up for a workshop, buy a ticket, read a new blog post.

Ask your readers to complete only one task with your email, and there’s a better chance they’ll see the value and want to do it!

Email marketing can seem overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be complicated! Keep things simple, visual, and stick to one clear message per email, and your readers will love your content.
