Durham College

In Spring 2020, I worked with the Office of Research Services, Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Durham College to create an e-newsletter layout template the team could use to send research updates to stakeholders at the college.

The team’s original layout included pages and pages of text, and various fonts and colours. I brought the layout back to a more simplistic approach in order to help their readership: using photos, headlines, and short excerpts from articles to entice clicks rather than providing full articles upfront.

By moving their newsletter from a Word doc to a MailChimp template, I helped their team not only create a template they could easily fill in with content on their own, but also created a platform for them to measure newsletter opens and clicks so they could learn more about to improve their email communications for their readers in the future.

I also worked with the department to film and edit a handful of promotional videos to highlight the benefit of experiential learning at the college to students and industry partners alike. I organized and conducted interviews with the students, faculty members and industry partners involved in these projects, then edited the footage together in Premiere Pro to create on-brand video content.
