Irvine Welsh Interview

June 2015

In 2015, I ran a book blog called Musings of a Writer, where I (an aspiring writer, at the time) would review books I’ve read, from the perspective of the writing style.

I collaborated with publishers such as Penguin Random House Canada, Simon & Schuster Canada, and Quirk Books — they would reach out to me for potential reviews, promotional events, and other opportunities.

In June 2015, I was offered the opportunity to attend a screening of Trainspotting at TIFF, where Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh would be doing a Q&A after the screening to promote his new book, A Decent Ride.

Penguin Random House Canada also offered me the opportunity to meet Irvine Welsh the following day, while he was still in town, to conduct my own interview and shoot my own photos for my blog.

It was such an amazing opportunity — one that I will always cherish.
